Wendy's, Fruita

I wasn't keen to go back to Wendy's after the enormous disappointment the Baconator turned out to be. But here we were in Fruita, on our way to the Colorado National Monument, and it was lunch. So what could I do?

What I did was order their run of the mill burger - Dave's Hot 'N Juicy 1/4lb. Cheeseburger. Who was Dave? I don't know. But as to the hamburger - it wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either.

It looked good. The ingredients were fresh. Fries were good and the Lemonade was great. But it just lacked something. It was kind of bland. Nothing really wrong with it, but nothing that would really get you back to have another one.

So I have to rate it -
Taste - 2.5
Value - 4.0. You get a lot of burger for your money.
Messiness - 4.5. Easy to eat.
Would I eat again? Not unless I had to.

Baconator Part 2

Back home now and time to finish off my reflections on the USA.

But first things first, the Baconator.

On paper is sounds so good - 6 strips of bacon, 2 1/4lb patties, two slices of cheese.

And it looked like this in the ads -
But the reality was oh so different.

Sure it was big. Sure it was greasy and heavy. But it was no more than a sodden, tasteless mess.

It was one of those cases where the disappointment was palpable. Where I was sure that if I ordered it again, it would be different.

But, I'm not sure.

This is how I rate it
Value - 1.5 (it's $4.69 of regret)
Taste - 1.5 (again, a real disappointment, hardly any bacon flavour at all)
Messiness - 2.5
Would I eat it again - 2.5 (it can't really be this bad can it? But if it is, then this would be a 1.0)

The Baconator

Not much time to write as we're about to catch the plane, but just posting to say that I've finally had the Baconator.

Got to eat one at Moab, home of the famous Delicate Arch.

Compared with the wonders of Moab how did the Baconator fare?
