I'm BACK!!!

I'm back in the good ol' US of A and it's burger time again!

The one burger that I've been looking forward to eating is the infamous KFC double down, but I'll wait until I get over my jetlag for that one.

But so far I got a chance to have a pulled pork sandwich at the dine
r at LAX while waiting to board the United flight to SLC, which w
as great. But the first real burger I've had is this.

This is the famous Hires Big H.

On the menu it's described like this:

Fresh-ground quarter-pound chuck hamburger from the Hires Big H kitchen garnished with Fry Sauce, lettuce, tomato and American cheese on a Big H bun.

I had mine as part of the Hires Big H Ring combo, which included the burger, some of the best onion rings you'll ever have and a huge cup of great root beer all for the incredible price of $8.75.

I was there with Pearl and she asked me how it was and I thought it was great. It tastes super fresh and I just love the fry sauce, but in the end it still doesn't beat an In-N-Out Double Double.

But having said that, I'd be more than happy to come back again.

No nutritional information but you can find out more here at www.hiresbigh.com

Value - 5 (the combo price is unbeatable)
Taste - 4 (great but not quite the Double Double)
Messiness - 4 (not messy at all, besides the occasional piece of lettuce falling out)
Would I eat one again? You bet!

The Original Six Dollar Burger

So the quest begins.

Have arrived in Salt Lake City and went to Costco this morning and was going to have Sushi but the restaurant was closed. So what to do?

Off to try a burger!

So in we went to Carl Jrs and it first cab off the rank was The Original Six Dollar burger.

The burger itself is $3.99 but it's $6.49 with a drink and some fries and to be honest, it was pretty good.

The pattie was tasty and pretty big. The tomato and onion and lettuce all looked pretty fresh and there was even table service.

I was thinking about how I would rate my burgers and I've decided to use the Hungry Jack's Whopper (or Burger King for people in the rest of the world) as the mean in terms of my criteria:

1. Value
2. Taste
3. Messiness
4. Would I eat it again?

In other words a Whopper would get a score of 2.5/5 on all of these counts.
So how does The Original Six Dollar Burger compare?

1. Value - 2.5
2. Taste - 3
3. Messiness - 1.5 (it was pretty messy with sauce dripping all over the place)
4. Would I eat it again? - 1.5 (in the end the thought of regularly eating a burger with 1010 calories and 68g of fat versus 650 calories and 39g with the Whopper is a little bit too much to swallow).
